 Mr. Jinsheng Ren
Founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ren is Simcere’s founder, chairman of our board of directors and our chief executive
officer. Prior to founding Simcere in March 1995, he was a department manager at Jiangsu
Pharmaceutical Industries Co., Ltd. From 1982 to 1992, he was the vice general manager of
Qidong Gaitianli Medicines Co., Ltd. Mr. Ren graduated from the Nanjing University of
Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1982 majoring in Chinese Medicine, and received a
master’s degree in Economics from University of Macquarie in Australia in 2003. He is
currently a guest professor at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and
an adjunct professor of Northwest University in China. |

 Mr. Frank Zhigang Zhao
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Frank Zhigang Zhao is Simcere’s Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Zhao joined our
company in October 2006. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Zhao was the chief financial officer of
Sun New Media Inc. From 2003 to 2005, he was the vice president of Finance at Faro
Technologies, Inc. From 1996 to 2002, he was the vice president of finance at Resort
Reservation Network. From 1993 to 1996, he was a senior accountant at
PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Zhao received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from
Beijing University in 1985 and an MBA degree from University of Hartford in 2003. He is
a certified public accountant in the United States. |

 Mr. Xiaojin Yin
Vice President of Research and Development
Mr. Xiaojin Yin is Simcere’s Vice President in charge of research and development of our
company. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Yin was the general manager of Jiangsu Simcere
Pharmaceutical R&D Co., Ltd., or Simcere Research. From 2000 to 2003, he was the
general manager assistant of both Simcere Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and a manager of
Simcere Research. From 1992 to 2000, he was the head of the medical research department
of the China Pharmaceutical University in Nanjing. From 1991 to 1992, Mr. Yin was the
general manager of the medicine production facility at China Pharmaceutical University.
Mr. Yin received a bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences from China Pharmaceutical
University in 1982 and a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Nanjing
University of Science and Technology in 2001. |

 Mr. Jindong Zhou
Vice President of Manufacturing
Jindong Zhou is Simcere’s Vice President in charge
of manufacturing. He joined Simcere since 1996. Mr. Zhou
had been the general manager of Nanjing Simcere Pharmaceutical
Co., Ltd., Simcere Dongyuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and
Simcere (Hainan) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
Mr. Zhou graduated from the Nanjing University of Traditional
Chinese Medicine in 1982 majoring in Chinese Medicine, and he received a master’s degree in Economics from University of Macquarie in Australia in 2008.

 Mark Chen
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mark Chen is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Simcere. Prior to joining Simcere in March 2008, Mr. Chen worked in Merck Sharp and Dohme (MSD) Taiwan (branch of US Merck), from 2001 to 2008. He progressed from Senior Finance Manger, Associate Business Unit Director, Sales Director to Business Unit Director of Key Customer Unit. From 2000 to 2001, he was the Vice President of Softchina Venture Capital. He had been with Procter& Gamble from 1995 to 2000, serving in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Korea for various regional financial projects, ranging from key account management to M&A.
Mr. Chen received his Bachelors degree of Power Mechanical Engineering from Taiwan National Tsing Hua University in 1990 and in the year 1995, he received an MBA from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. |

 Mr Dazheng Sun
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mr Dazheng Sun is a Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Simcere.
Prior to being promoted to this position, Mr Sun from June to December 2007 served concurrent positions as Assistant to the CEO and General Manager of the Business Development Department.
He also has served as Director of the First Commercial Department of Jiangsu Simcere Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd from January 2005 to July 2006; and as Human Resource Manager, Human Resource Director, and Manager of Simcere Anhui Branch since joining Simcere in May 2001.
Mr. Sun is a graduate of Hohai University where he studied for both his Bachelors degree graduating in 1992, and an MBA (in Enterprises Management) which he received in 1999. |

 Mr Baoxing Zha
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mr Baoxing Zha is a Vice President of Sales and Marketing with Simcere.
In 2007 he served in a number of positions as General Manager of Shanghai Simcere Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, Board Chairperson of Shanghai Simcere Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd, and Assistant to the CEO.
Since commencing his career with Simcere from May 1996, Mr Cha has also served as Product Manager, District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Sales Director, Marketing Director, Human Resource Manager, Training Director, Manager of Simcere Branch Company, and General Manager of Anti-tumor Drug Department.
From 1985 to 1996, he was a lecturer at the Medical College of South East University. Mr Zha holds a Bachelors degree from the Medical College of South East University, and in 2003 graduated with an MBA from Renmin University of China in Beijing. |

 Dr. Hiu Ming Pang
Senior Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Hiu Ming Pang is the Senior Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer responsible for technology transfer and international business development. Since 2000, Dr. Pang has been and continues to be a director of the Life Sciences Advisory Group. From 1998 to 2000, he was executive director of Asia Healthcare, Inc. From 1993 to 1999, he was chairman and chief executive officer of Baker Norton Asia. From 1982 to 1988, Dr. Pang was the China project manager for Glaxo Wellcome UK. Dr. Pang is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, a member of the Institute of Chemical Engineers of Great Britain, and a fellow member and proposed council member of the Hong Kong Biotechnology Association. Dr. Pang received a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the University of London in 1977, a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Engineering from the University of London in 1981, and a postgraduate diploma in Management Studies from Ealing College in London in 1986. |

 Mr. Haibo Qian
Secretary to Board of Directors and Company Secretary
Mr. Haibo Qian is the secretary to Simcere’s board of directors and our company secretary.
From 1993 to the present, he has held various roles at our group, including chief inspector,
special assistant to the chief executive officer, market strategy department manager, and
department general manager. In 2005, he was also the special assistant to the chief
executive officer of Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co., Ltd. From 1986 to 1993,
Mr. Qian was the director at the Health Economics Department of Nanjing Medical
University. He received a bachelor’s degree in Law from Nanjing Normal University in
1986, graduated from Shanghai Medical University in 1993 majoring in Health Economics,
and received an MBA from Nanjing University in 2002. Since 2004, he has been studying
toward a Ph.D. degree in Management and Social Medicine at the China Pharmaceutical
University. Mr. Qian is a certified pharmacist. |
